Michael Harlow
Michael Harlow wears a lot of hats. He is a husband, father to seven, leader of two local organizations, and an athlete. In 2005, Michael Harlow started Endorphin Fitness which prepares kids and adults of all levels for youth and adult triathlon and running events. Through Endorphin Fitness, Michael coached athletes at the highest level nationally and witnessed the impact of sports in the lives of young people. In 2018 though, Michael became unsettled with the fact that he was only working with kids from well-off families when ALL kids need fitness and what it teaches. In response, he started the Live Red Foundation. Live Red Foundation offers free fitness programs which teach core life skills to children in low-opportunity neighborhoods throughout Richmond.

Allan Ng
Allan Ng joins the Live Red Foundation Board for its explicit commitment to bringing the sport he loves—triathlon—to an often-overlooked population and/or unable to access or afford all the sport entails. Allan has built a career in hospitality, seeing firsthand the importance of diversity, inclusivity, and communication for team effectiveness, both in the restaurant and on the course. He is excited to use his skill set to advance the vital work of the foundation. Allan has been involved with Endorphin Fitness since he lived in Richmond, VA, in the early 2000s. He has remained committed to the group because of his love of the sport and the sense of community and camaraderie that fitness offered. Ng is excited by the opportunity to help ensure that a fitness community is available to the broader Richmond area it serves and welcomes the chance to see Live Red Foundation morph into a true ambassador for fitness as a tool for community connectedness and integration. Allan lives with his wife (Noelle), son (Henry), and corgi (Theo) in Arlington, VA; when he’s not racing around courses or restaurants, he enjoys a weekend at home with friends and family and whatever latest home project he has going on.

Jay Markiewicz
I am at my best when surrounded by those of us in pursuit of our dreams and asking “how can we get there?” I believe even in the most ambiguous and challenging situations there is a way to move closer to our aspirations. So I dive in with insatiable curiosity and leverage my gifts to discover pathways and methods to prove we can get there. I apply what I discover to coach, teach, and write so that others may gain clarity and confidence in their ability to achieve. I currently serve as the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business Executive Director of Entrepreneurship Programs where I mentor and guide practitioners, design curriculum, teach entrepreneurship/leadership, and in partnership with the Ford Fund design and deliver the Henry Ford Entrepreneurship Academy in the Middle East, Africa, and US. I keep my entrepreneurship skills honed as a founder of several startups and have served as an appointed member of the Virginia Governor’s Council for Youth Entrepreneurship and currently sit on several community boards.
